3 Tips for Resetting After A Holiday Weekend

In fact, I ate Thanksgiving leftovers for three days straight so it is safe to say that I ate too much for three full days straight. You got that right. So, come Monday morning – when I hopped back on my normal groove – I was feeling like…

Well, poop. Just poop.

My head hurt, my stomach hurt, and I was exhausted – physically and mentally. Don’t get me wrong, the holidays are great. I love them, like really love them.

But, they are also exhausting and let’s be real – all that food just isn’t good for you. In any way possible.

So, once that long holiday weekend is over and reality is setting back in, nothing feels better than a good ole detox. Resetting yourself will make the Monday after a holiday finally not feel like the worst hangover of your life. And, trust me, it is just about the best thing you can do for yourself.

Here are a few tips for resetting:

  1. Meditation is always the best start.

    Ideally, you should meditate daily. But, I can’t say much because I don’t do that either. Who am I kidding – I always say I will but then life gets in the way.

    But, following a stressful holiday, take a few moments to meditate and get your focus back where it should be.

  2. Get a massage. 

    One sure-fire way to relieve stress is to get a massage. I mean, come on, they literally rub the stress and exhaustion right out of you.

  3. Take a bath.

    Or a shower if that is more your thing. Either way, a little hot water and some good smelling soap can fix just about anything and prepare you for a good night’s sleep, full of relaxation.
